The NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) Nurse provides specialized care for newborn infants who are born prematurely or have health complications. They work closely with doctors and other healthcare professionals to manage and monitor the care of these fragile patients.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor the health of newborn infants in the NICU
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by doctors
• Monitor vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition
• Care for feeding tubes, IV lines, and other medical devices
• Provide emotional support and education to families of NICU patients
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans

Skill Sets:

• Experience working in a NICU or pediatric setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of neonatal care techniques and equipment
• Ability to provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients and families
• Current RN license and certification in neonatal nursing (NNP-BC or RNC-NIC) preferred
