The Insurance Pre-Approval Specialist is responsible for verifying insurance coverage and obtaining pre-approval for medical procedures and services. They work closely with medical staff, insurance companies, and patients to ensure that all necessary authorizations are in place before treatment begins.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance coverage and benefits for patients
• Obtain pre-approval from insurance companies for medical procedures and services
• Communicate with medical staff to ensure all necessary information is submitted for pre-approval
• Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage and potential out-of-pocket costs
• Follow up with insurance companies to track the status of pre-approval requests
• Maintain accurate records of insurance verification and pre-approval status
• Provide support to billing department as needed
