Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze patient medical records to accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes
• Ensure coding compliance with federal regulations and insurance requirements
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures as needed
• Maintain patient confidentiality and data integrity
• Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives

Skill Sets:

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
• Proficiency in medical coding systems, such as ICD-10 and CPT
• Attention to detail and accuracy in assigning codes
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Certification in medical coding (e.g. Certified Professional Coder) preferred
