An ophthalmic technician is responsible for assisting ophthalmologists in providing patient care. They perform various diagnostic tests and procedures to help diagnose and treat eye conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Performing preliminary eye examinations
• Taking patient medical histories
• Administering diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and refraction
• Assisting with minor surgical procedures
• Providing patient education on eye care and treatment plans
• Maintaining and sterilizing equipment
