Job Description: School Counsellor

Responsibilities:

• Provide counselling services to students to address personal, social, academic, and career development needs
• Conduct individual and group counselling sessions to help students overcome challenges and develop coping strategies
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' well-being and academic success
• Assess students' mental health concerns and refer them to appropriate resources for further support
• Develop and implement prevention programs to promote mental health awareness and positive coping skills
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of counselling sessions and student progress

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Empathy and understanding of students' needs
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and establish trust with students
• Knowledge of counselling techniques and best practices
• Ability to work collaboratively with other school staff and community resources
