Storekeeper Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from stockroom or warehouse
• Keep records and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
• Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents
• Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of stockrooms and warehouse areas
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper storage and handling of materials

• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to lift heavy objects
• Basic math skills
• Knowledge of inventory management software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a warehouse or stockroom environment
• Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment
• Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines
