Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a curriculum for music education
• Plan and conduct music lessons for students of varying levels and abilities
• Teach students music theory, instrumental techniques, and performance skills
• Organize and lead music ensembles, such as bands or choirs
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to help them improve
• Prepare students for music exams, competitions, and performances
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate music into cross-curricular activities
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current in music education best practices

Skill Sets:

• Proficiency in playing one or more musical instruments
• Strong knowledge of music theory and history
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience and the ability to motivate and inspire students
• Organizational and time management skills
• Adaptability and flexibility in teaching different musical styles and genres
• Collaborative and team-oriented mentality
• Certification or degree in music education or a related field is preferred
