PICU Nurse Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
• Monitor patients' vital signs and assess their condition
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Assist in emergency procedures as needed
• Provide emotional support to patients and their families
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on best practices in pediatric critical care

Skill Sets:

• Current RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric critical care
• BLS and PALS certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
• Ability to collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare professionals
