A Charge Nurse on a Surgical and Medical Ward is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring high-quality patient care is being delivered. They are the point of contact for staff, patients, and families and act as a leader on the unit.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise nursing staff and delegate tasks as needed
• Ensure all patient care is delivered according to established protocols and standards
• Assist in the development of care plans and treatment regimens
• Provide support and guidance to staff as needed
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
• Assist with staffing needs and scheduling
• Handle any patient or staff concerns or issues that may arise
