Job Description: Data Center Architect

A Data Center Architect is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data center infrastructure to ensure the availability, scalability, and security of an organization's IT systems and applications.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and planning data center layouts, including server racks, storage systems, networking equipment, and cooling solutions.
• Implementing and configuring data center hardware and software components, such as servers, storage arrays, switches, and firewalls.
• Monitoring and managing data center performance, capacity, and availability to meet SLAs and business requirements.
• Implementing data center security measures, such as access controls, encryption, and intrusion detection systems.
• Collaborating with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of data center infrastructure with existing systems and applications.
• Developing disaster recovery and business continuity plans to safeguard data center operations in the event of a system failure or disaster.

Skill Sets:

• Proficiency in data center architecture and design principles, including server virtualization, storage technologies, network protocols, and data center automation tools.
• Experience with data center technologies and platforms, such as VMware, Cisco UCS, EMC Storage, and F5 Load Balancers.
• Knowledge of data center operations best practices, including ITIL processes, capacity planning, and performance monitoring.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a fast-paced data center environment.
• Certifications in data center technologies, such as CCNA, MCSE, VCP, or ITIL, are a plus.
