Estimator Job Description

An estimator is responsible for analyzing project specifications and preparing cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment needed to complete construction projects. They work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure that projects are completed within budget.

Responsibilities:

• Review project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and required materials
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for material, labor, and equipment
• Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather information for estimates
• Analyze subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing
• Track and monitor project expenses throughout the construction process
• Communicate with clients to provide accurate cost projections and answer any questions about estimates
