The Senior Charge Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is responsible for overseeing the nursing care provided to premature and ill newborns. They work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of care for these vulnerable patients.

Responsibilities:

• Supervising and guiding nursing staff in the NICU
• Developing and implementing care plans for NICU patients
• Ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures
• Participating in the hiring and training of new nursing staff
• Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
• Monitoring patient progress and making adjustments to care plans as needed
• Providing emotional support to patients and their families
• Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation

Skill Sets:

1. Registered Nurse (RN) license
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required, Master's degree preferred
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a NICU setting
4. Strong leadership and communication skills
5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
6. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
7. Knowledge of neonatal nursing best practices and procedures
8. Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
