Senior NICU Nurse

Job Description:

A Senior NICU Nurse is responsible for providing specialized care to newborn infants who are born prematurely or with medical conditions requiring intensive care. They work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to monitor and treat newborns, provide education and support to families, and collaborate with the medical team to ensure the best possible outcomes for the infants.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor the health status of newborn infants in the NICU
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
• Collaborate with the medical team to develop and implement care plans
• Provide education and support to families on caring for their newborns
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
• Respond to emergencies and provide life-saving interventions as needed
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care

Skill Sets:

• Current RN license and BLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in NICU nursing
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
• Knowledge of neonatal medications and treatments
• Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
